Dj Von ~ D
My name is Richard Egon von Dienes-Oehm.
I was born on June 4th, 1982 in La Jolla, California. I am the
son of Robert & Veronica von Dienes-Oehm. My parents
where forced to depart their native land of Hungary, by
fleeing the Communist Reign, which was ruling at the time.
They arrived to California in 1981, exactly one year before I
was born. My Father, a very successful Structural Engineer,
worked for many state governments designing Major Pump
Stations and Buildings. Whereas, my mother, a previous
professional X-ray tech, became a stay at home mother.
This gave her the opportunity to always be there when I
needed her. She took care of my brothers and I while my
father was away working hard to support his three children.
My Oldest Brother, Robert von Dienes-Oehm Jr. was my
constant mentor and teacher of life. He thought me how to
live by respecting myself and knowing who I am. My middle
brother, Zoltan P. von Dienes-Oehm, was and is as well my
mentor and teacher, who shows me the way to survive in
this world and make the right decisions. They both have
supported me greatly with all my mishaps and good doings
in my life. I am forever in their debt for everything they have
ever done for me!
As for me… I spoke only Hungarian as a kid. Unfortunately
once I started Kindergarten, I lost the utilization of my
language and spoke English only! It happened so sudden
that to this day I try to improve my knowledge of the
Hungarian language, but it is taking me a very long time. At
the age of 16, I received my Drivers License and went on to
Import Car racing with some friends while starting work with
my fathers company “OEHM Engineering” as a Autocad
Tech & Designer. As time went by, I went on to receive full
General Education from Palomar College, where I finished
with top grades and three certificates in Autocad
Architectural Design and Drafting, Computer
Science/Programming, Hardware Repair, and General Ed.
(Graduation Certificate).
At this time, I became a full time Designer with my fathers
company. I now design homes for our clients. I have
traveled to Hungary many times in the past, yet I love it
more and more each time I go. The majority of my family still
lives in Hungary.
My mother, Veronica von Dienes-Oehm passed away in
August of 2004 from liver failure. As for I, at this time had
much difficulties living on. Coping with the loss of my
mother and trying to help and support my father, was not an
easy task. Through time with the support of my friends and
family, I learned to cope with my mother’s burial. Her ashes
were buried along the side of her father’s (my grandfather’
s) ashes in a family tombstone. As time passed on by I was
able to fully cope with her passing and move on with my life.
I went on to Music at the Age of 16. I mainly did it as a
hobby at that time. Then I went on to getting my own Dj
Equipment and start mixing my own music. I began playing
at local organized events and private parties. Eventually I
moved on to bigger venues in San Diego, California, such
as “On Broadway, 4th&B, Typhoons” and many other
events. Now I am working on my first Album “Dj VonD
Uprising 2006” which should be out by August 2007. I Dj
through out the world and I am hoping to move on as a
successful music artist with plans to have at least 3 albums
out by the end of Summer 2008.
